Granny flat style container is lowered into someone’s backyard Application: Income assessed and council site approval
Timeline: 2-3 months
Decision: 2 designs to choose from. Instal and set up (and removal) costs are provided. Unit is connected into the main house’s water and electricity.
NDIS funded housing - Specialist disability accommodation | NDIS
How to Apply: Functional or psychological assessments + Home and Living form + supporting documents to show where/how you want to live (alone/share)
Timeline: Emailed to SDA panel for decision - 6mths
Decision: Annual funded amount paid to SDA provider SDA availability

◦FA – for people in a wheelchair
◦IL – for people who have mobility/vision/sensitivity/low IQ
◦Robust – for people who have behaviours of concern (damage walls, need clear line of sight, safe room for workers)

NDIS Funded Supports
Homes owned or managed by a Support Provider under NDIS
- Rent directly to the SIL provider or find your own private rental and just employ the SIL for supports only
- No option for changing SIL Provider in the home if using their rental
- House Management is run by the SIL provider
- SIL is a special funding under NDIS that is quoted by the SIL Provider.
- Shared support with the other housemates
Cost: Pension SRS $450 per week (Non-pension SRS is more)
- Includes
◦Rent (lockable single room with ensuite in most cases)
◦All meals – some served in your room, or eaten in shared dining area
◦Cleaning and laundry
◦On-site support (if more support needed, can use NDIS funding)
